I currently serve as a one-person web team for UMass Lowell’s Advancement Team. In my tenure I have applied user-center design techniques to maximize our web communications including but not limited to our overall email strategy, developing user-friendly web navigations and developing content patterns for emails and web pages.

I was part of the Fraud User Experience team. I was responsible for several pieces of the product and have managed redesigns of these elements through the entire process, from requirements gathering to working with a visual designer to testing. I also built out functioning prototypes for user testing.

As part of a team of students at the University of North Carolina, I conducted a usability test on the online music player. Grooveshark. I served as project manager, created user tasks, built user profiles, and conducted quantitative analysis. Full copies of the report and presentation are available below.

Working in a small group, I analyzed a systemic problem in booking exercise equipment at campus facilities. We use observation and interviews to develop a system redesign. This redesign included models, maps, and diagrams that explained user issues with the system and developed our solution to those issues.

I was tasked with developing a new user-centered design based on a specific set of user needs. By choosing a new system over an existing one, I developed original personas, wireframes, and protoypes for this project. The final product highlights my skills in Balsamiq.

As part of a three person team for a data visualization class, I served as both the UX lead and the front-end developer. I defined users and use cases, created wireframes, and coded the pages using HTML, CSS, a Bootstrap Framework, and Jade.

As part of a team at the University of North Carolina, I investigated the privacy issues surrounding the 2010 Google Buzz launch. We researched users perception of the tools, as well as users perception of privacy. Examining the literature and reports about the product launch, we concluded that Google could have avoided the bad publicity by employing a user and privacy centered design approach.
